Training Humour

When I was at offshore, I used to conduct lot of training sessions...monthly atleast 4,5 trainings....mainframe related stuff...mostly to freshers.....most of the time training will be for the whole day....CTS le ELT's kellaam St.Joseph college le training nadakum....it will be a welcome break for me from the daily routine....There are so many advantages when we conduct trainings....first it will give an opportunity to brush up ur skills, second you will get the money and also you will get a chance to meet and know different people....Students just out of college appadingradhaale we feel the college atmosphere. Some will listen, some will day dream, some will talk, some will sleep etc.

Neraiya funny incidents irukku...To name a few, once i was teaching about mainframe screens, how to navigate etc. I told them in our project we used to type F1 for file browse, F2 for file edit and F33 for copying. One girl asked very innocently F1 is in the keyboard, F2 is also in the keyboard, where is F33??? hahahah....I was not able to control the laughter and somehow managed and said you have to type F and then type 3 twice.....then the whole class burst into laughter......Second incident was very embarrasing for me.....I was conducting IDMS training..some dry concept....most of them were sleeping...so asked them to go for a break....most of them left...only a few people remained in the class and they were checking mails. I too thot of checking my mail and without realizing the projector is on.....I opened a forward, I dont remember what was the forward all about, but at the end was a huge chimpanzee and it was written in red bold letters that "YOU ARE A CHIMPANZEE". When I closed the mail and turned, everyone in the class was looking at me with a mischievious smile. That time only i realized that i didnt switch off the projector...:-)) how stupid ille? Anyway really miss those trainings after coming here.....Hope to have such trainings when i goto offshore....

"Don't just Dream ... Live your Dream"

When was the last time u were sad? Or if you are sad now y are u sad, because you expected something to happen but something totally unexpected happened. It differs from person to person in the way they express their sadness...some will cry, some will shout, some will remain silent..Does it mean expectation (desire) is the cause of all evil? But how can we lead a life without any expectations and just live life as it comes? Right from small small things, say for example trying a recipe or writing a program we expect the end product to be good...but if it doesn't turn out in the way we expected, it will surely be disheartening.

I read one article in indiatimes and was very impressed by this quote, "We are searching for a 25 paise coin without knowing that God had kept an one rupee coin for us"...what a positive outlook? So from now on, if we didnt get the expected thing, we shud not be sad, we shud move on in life with the belief that there is something better waiting for us.

"Life gives Answers in Three ways,

1. It says YES and gives Whatever u Want...

2. It says NO and gives u Something Better.

3. It says Wait and gives u the Best..........."

Kanaa Kandenadi

Whenever we see Indians in US, we feel very happy and we just smile at each other. We feel like conversing in our own language but we cannot do, because most of the time even though we belong to the same country that person don’t know my language and vice versa. I can only talk to that Indian in English, which is the same language I use talking to an American. In United States of America, if a person is moving from east coast to west coast he is not going to feel much of a difference. Enna time difference irukkum, climate change irukkum avlodhaane??? Am not able to think of anything else. But in India, people in north are scared to come to south and south indiansku north pakkam poga bayam....”Ellaam baya mayam”...The reason is they feel they are totally at a new place.....they are not familiar with most of the things, the language is different, eating habits are different, culture is different. Enna US madhiri time zone differenta irukkaadhu....But other than that everything is different. Leave north and south, a person from Karnataka will feel totally odd when he is in Tamilnadu. With Bus conductors and auto drivers, we cannot manage if we speak in english.

In my last blog “Appo Ikkare Ippo Akkare” I have mentioned that when I was asked to come to US, I left everything and came happily, the reason is I can survive in this place because I know the language they speak here…but if I have been asked to move to some state in India, say Meghalaya or West Bengal, I don’t think I would have done that.

All this is coz we dont have a common language in India. Summa perukku we have Hindi as the National langugage, but how many of us know hindi??? What is the use of having a language as a national language which many people dont understand??? If Hindi is the national language, make Hindi as a compulsory language, make every Indian learn Hindi. For this we need support from ‘Kudimagans’ of each state, they should leave there superiority complex, be United and make this mission possible.

I am dreaming about “United States of India”, Dr. Kalam Sir, will you make my dream come true??

Appo Ikkare Ippo Akkare

When i was at offshore, i always wanted to come to onsite. My intention behind coming to onsite is not money making. I just want to have the exposure of visiting a different country, get to know the people their culture etc. Whenever we get to see some good places (eg : Statue of Liberty, Golden gate bridge etc) in forwarded mails, i used to tell my friends, evlonaaldhaan ippadi PPTle paakaporome theriyale, eppo idhellaam nerle paapomnu....After coming here i really made use of every opportunity and tried visiting as many places I can.

Now i want to go back to india....but i feel am gonna miss
some of the luxuries out here...My friend used to tell...here we are
enjoying all the luxuries (Dish washer, vaccum cleaner, microwave, car etc etc), it is going to be tough for us when we goto india...and we used to think quite often how will the life be when we go to India........Strange isn't it??? When we are asked to come onsite, we didnt think of anything else, how we are going to survive in this new place, new people, new culture etc. We just happily left everything and came here.....Now when we have to goto our own land why this unnecessary fear, thoughts and confusion???? Once one of my friend kept the oil (coz of the cold climate, oil will be frozen and we have to heat it everytime) in the microwave and asked....aiyo, indha madhiri ellaathukkum microwave ellaam indiale use pannamudiyadhille....I replied saying, ange oil heat pannanumre avasiyame ille...The same thing applies to everything....But most of us are not able to accept
the fact that the life is not only beautiful in US, and we can live
the same beautiful life in india also.....

Hmm...Akkarai seemai azhaginile manam aada kandome....

Mt. Rushmore in India

Last week, we had been to Mt. Rushmore, South Dakota. Four president's faces were carved on the mountains. The presidents were selected on the basis of what each symbolized. George Washington represents the struggle for independence, Thomas Jefferson the idea of government by the people. Abraham Lincoln for his ideas on equality and the permanent union of the states, and Theodore Roosevelt for the 20th century role of the United States in world affairs.
